Key Responsibilities

  • Support the underwriting team in the preparation of information needed to market new and renewal business
  • Identify and assess business that may fit into carrier programs
  • Independently interface with clients and carriers to solve problems and answer questions
  • Develop and maintain proactive communication with clients
  • Review and analyze quotes, and negotiate the terms of the transaction
  • Prepare draft proposals, submissions, and quotes
  • Monitor market changes and perform marketing activities as needed by Broker
  • Maintain knowledge of insurance coverages, carriers, and their business practices
  • Gather underwriting information from retail agents
  • Assist with invoice management
  • Provide exceptional customer service to incoming calls
  • Execute other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • 2+ years of insurance industry experience
  • Commercial underwriting experience preferred
  • Advanced computer skills, to include typing, MS Office, and Excel software
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills, to include presentation skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong time management and organizational skills
  • Applicable state P&C license required
  • Excess and Surplus license a plus
  • Strong sales and marketing skills
  • Solid business acumen
  • Interest in continued education and professional development
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, both internally and externally
