We are seeking a dedicated Direct Support Professional to join our team at Caregiver Inc. in Shelbyville, IN.

About the Role

As a Direct Support Professional, you will be responsible for facilitating daily living activities for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. This includes personal hygiene, dining skills, housekeeping skills, social skills, and community access.

Responsibilities
  • Facilitate daily living activities, including personal care, meal service, and housekeeping.
  • Provide direct support and assistance to consumers in training activities.
  • Aid in mobility for individuals using wheelchairs and assistive devices.
  • Assist with medication administration and treatments according to company policy.
  • Act as a Primary Person (P2) for assigned consumers, ensuring their wellbeing at all times.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A high school education or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in supporting individuals with disabilities is preferred.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Valid driver's license and good driving record preferred.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing.
