About the Property

The Community Within the Corridor (CWC) is a 197-unit affordable multifamily housing development in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. This project involves a $59 million investment and repurposing of two city blocks' worth of long-vacant historic industrial buildings.

About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Maintenance Manager to join our team at The Meridian. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the overall maintenance and upkeep of our properties, including occupied apartment units.

Responsibilities
  • General maintenance of multifamily apartment buildings, including occupied apartment units.
  • Supervise maintenance technicians and ensure they are properly trained and equipped to perform their duties.
  • Repair and maintenance of electrical, plumbing, and appliances.
  • Participation in cleaning and painting during unit turns.
  • Snow removal and other seasonal tasks.
  • Regular communication with property managers, maintenance managers, and residents.
  • On-call rotation; responds to emergency calls after hours and on weekends.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 2+ years of property maintenance experience (apartment maintenance experience preferred).
  • 2+ years of customer service experience preferred.
  • Experience supervising maintenance staff preferred.
  • Local market experience preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and evenings.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and perform physical tasks as required.
