The Maintenance Supervisor will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our production facility. This individual will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance of all plant equipment and systems, as well as collaborating with the maintenance and production management teams to develop and implement effective maintenance strategies.
Key Responsibilities:- Establish and maintain Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure facility readiness for customer and regulatory inspections.
- Provide leadership and guidance to maintenance employees to achieve plant goals through continuous improvement and alignment with company vision, mission, and values.
- Collaborate with departments to establish or improve programs addressing safety and other policies.
- Supervise daily maintenance activities, including routine and emergency maintenance in a 24/7 work environment.
- Utilize Computer Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to process work orders, schedule preventive maintenance, and control parts inventory and costs.
- Review MP2 reports to ensure accuracy and work with the MP2 planner to assign work orders.
- Assist with maintenance activities tied to production and facility, including ensuring safety and environmental compliance.
- Monitor personnel matters, including work schedules, vacations, and discipline.
- Provide guidance, training, and coaching to maintenance team members.
- Coordinate with Plant Manager on equipment analysis to determine facility improvement needs.
- Monitor line operations, production line speeds, quality, and attend daily meetings.
- Determine work procedures, prepare work schedules, and expedite workflow for multi-craft mechanics and lead persons.
- Manage outside contractors as needed for specialized repairs.
- Drive cost savings through continuous follow-up of maintenance personnel activities.
- Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues to increase production efficiency.
- Participate in daily planning meetings with the management team.
- Conduct daily meetings with maintenance staff outlining tasks, safety concerns, etc.
- Participate in the creation/management of annual maintenance and capital budgets.
- Effective listener and team player.
- Able to work effectively with others, have good interpersonal and leadership skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Able to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong computer skills, including experience with SAP and Microsoft Office.
- Continuous improvement mindset with the ability to lead and support multiple projects.
High School or equivalent, plus specialized training (min 6mos-2yrs). 1-year supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment. Exposure to PLC programming a plus.
The employee works indoors in a production environment. Additionally, the incumbent will work near moving mechanical parts, and in high places. He/she will be exposed to fumes or airborne particles. There is moderate noise in the work environment.
