About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Automotive Sales Representative to join our team at Sherwin-Williams. As a key member of our sales team, you will be responsible for developing and executing sales strategies to drive growth and profitability in the automotive coatings market.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct competitive product comparisons and identify current competitors' strengths and weaknesses to determine competitive advantage.
  • Make sales calls to prospective and existing jobbers and end users to identify customer needs and develop solutions to profitably grow sales.
  • Develop a regular sales call schedule to ensure customer needs and expectations are met.
  • Familiarize yourself with all products, including their application and preparation.
  • Develop sales presentations and promotions to facilitate growth in existing accounts and open new accounts.
  • Assist customers in proper selection and application of product to develop expert relationships.
  • Conduct product demos to assist in selling/marketing of automotive refinishing products.
  • Access product/technical information to support customers' application requirements.
  • Handle customer complaints within lines of authority and manage process to resolution.
  • Assist customers in setup and implementation of mixing systems.
  • Support customers with technical, sales, and marketing assistance as needed.
  • Assist customers in determining inventory levels.
  • Assist in color verification and field color formulations.
  • Accompany and assist Distribution Jobbers sales force in selling/marketing of automotive refinishing products.
Requirements
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must have a valid driver's license.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. frequently and up to 100 lbs. on occasion.
  • Must be able to operate a computer and communicate via the telephone.
  • Must be able to communicate verbally and in writing.
  • May work in areas where toxic, flammable, and hazardous materials are present.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Sales experience in coatings or a related field.
  • Outside sales experience.
  • Bachelor's Degree.
Travel Requirements

75% of time spent away from home or other typical office location.
