Quality Assurance Manager

Due to an internal promotion, our client is seeking a Quality Assurance Manager to oversee quality systems and product integrity at a growing facility. The Quality Assurance Manager will report to a Corporate Quality Lead and collaborate closely with the Plant Manager on quality initiatives, responsible for the following:

  • Monitor and enhance quality systems
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and legal standards, guiding direct reports to confirm adherence
  • Lead root cause analysis and ensure implementation of corrective measures
  • Validate new and existing products
  • Communicate quality KPIs, objectives, and initiatives to plant management and corporate representatives
  • Prepare for and conduct internal and external quality audits
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives related to quality, including cost-saving objectives for the plant
  • Collaborate with plant and corporate teams on quality projects
  • Develop and maintain key quality performance metrics
  • Lead and engage in cross-functional teams focused on plant quality
  • Update and maintain the site HACCP plan
  • Partner with R&D for on-site trial activities
  • Implement and enhance quality training programs, including orientation
  • Manage non-routine quality projects and higher-level crisis situations
  • Assist with vendor qualification processes
  • Other responsibilities as assigned by management

Candidates should possess strong communication skills, be self-driven, take initiative on projects, be organized, detail-oriented, and enjoy mentoring and developing their team. This role is primarily office-based, with up to 15% of time spent on the manufacturing floor. Qualifications for the Quality Assurance Manager:

1. A minimum of a Bachelor's degree, preferably in a scientific or technical discipline

2. At least five years of experience in a similar manufacturing quality leadership role

3. Experience in supervising teams

4. Background in overseeing quality in food, beverage, medical device, or pharmaceutical sectors

5. Familiarity with regulated environments (FDA, GFSI, BRC, etc.)

6. Knowledge of HACCP principles

7. Strong expertise in root cause analysis and CAPA (corrective and preventative action)

8. Solid quality auditing experience

9. Proficiency in statistical analysis

10. Experience in validating new and existing products

11. Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook

Preferred Skills (not required):

1. Quality certifications

2. Lean and/or Six Sigma methodologies

3. ERP system experience

4. Familiarity with Power BI

5. Experience with Minitab
