Job Description

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Nursing Services to lead our nursing department at Beaverton Rehab & Specialty Care LLC. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for planning, developing, and implementing nursing programs and activities that meet the needs of our residents.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Nursing Service Department Leadership: Plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate, and direct the nursing service department, as well as its programs and activities, in accordance with current rules, regulations, and guidelines that govern the nursing care facilities.
  • Policies and Procedures: Develop, maintain, and periodically update written policies and procedures that govern the day-to-day functions of the nursing department.
  • Facility Surveys: Participate in facility surveys (inspections) made by authorized government agencies as necessary or as may be directed.
  • Budget Planning: Prepare and plan the nursing service department's budget and submit to the Administrator for his/her review, recommendations, and/or approval.
  • Staffing and Recruitment: Determine the staffing needs of the nursing service department necessary to meet the total nursing needs of the residents. Assist the Administrator and/or the HR Director in the recruitment and selection of nursing service personnel.
  • Performance Evaluations: Assist the HR Director in developing performance evaluation schedules, criteria, and annual reviews for the nursing service department (e.g., RNs, LPNs, CNAs, medication aides, etc.).

Qualifications:

  • Nursing Degree: Must possess, as a minimum, a nursing degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Leadership Experience: Must have, as a minimum, three (3) years of experience as a supervisor in a hospital, nursing care facility, or other related health care facility.
  • Rehabilitative Experience: Must have, as a minimum, six (6) months of equivalent experience in rehabilitative and restorative nursing practices.
  • License and Certification: Must possess a current, unencumbered, active license to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN) in this state.
  • Communication Skills: Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the general public.
