Job Summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a skilled Fire Protection Specialist to join our team. As a Fire Protection Specialist, you will be responsible for servicing and troubleshooting wet/dry/pre-action systems, fire pumps-based fire sprinkler systems, and backflows. Your duties will include repairing and inspecting systems, following verbal and written instructions, and reading complex construction blueprints and diagrams. You will also be responsible for carrying and moving equipment and tools weighing up to 60 pounds, performing work in unusual positions, and properly disposing of trash associated with Johnson Controls Fire Protection work. Additionally, you will need to have computer/phone skills, including proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook, and iPhone apps and functions. You will be required to complete and submit time reports and other documents as needed, and bring any changes or discrepancies to the attention of the dispatcher/supervisor. Working alternate shifts or weekends may be required to meet customer service on-call requirements.

Responsibilities

Service and troubleshoot wet/dry/pre-action systems, fire pumps-based fire sprinkler systems, and backflows
Repair and inspect systems
Follow verbal and written instructions
Read and understand complex construction blueprints and diagrams
Carry and move equipment and tools weighing up to 60 pounds
Perform work in unusual positions
Properly dispose of trash associated with Johnson Controls Fire Protection work
Have computer/phone skills, including proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook, and iPhone apps and functions
Complete and submit time reports and other documents as needed
Bring any changes or discrepancies to the attention of the dispatcher/supervisor
Work alternate shifts or weekends as required

Requirements

Working knowledge of wet, dry, and pre-action sprinkler systems, and fire pump systems
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Ability to lift and carry equipment and tools weighing up to 60 pounds
Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces
Ability to work in a variety of weather conditions
