Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Commercial Security Specialist to join our team at Insight Global. As a vital member of our team, you will work onsite with our commercial clients to set up and program Integrated Security, Access Control, CCTV, Fire Alarm, and Security Systems.

This role involves dismantling and reconstructing equipment as needed, ensuring safety compliance, and adhering to local and national codes. You will also be responsible for maintaining certifications, communicating with customers, and preparing estimates as directed by the supervisor.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Installation and Maintenance: Install devices, dismantle, and reconstruct equipment as required by customers or Tyco Integrated Security.
  • Safety Compliance: Work safely to prevent injuries, property damage, and material loss. Clean up installation debris.
  • Standards Adherence: Follow safety standards and local/national codes, prioritizing employee and subcontractor safety.
  • Certification Maintenance: Keep up with local and National Fire/Security Industry Certifications.
  • Customer Interaction: Communicate with customers upon arrival and before leaving the site. Understand customer needs and existing systems.
  • Schedule Verification: Contact customers before scheduled installations to confirm timing.
  • Estimate Preparation: Prepare estimates as directed by the supervisor.
  • Wiring and Hook-Up: Follow schematic wiring diagrams and hook-up procedures.
  • Project Monitoring: Assist in monitoring project execution and report issues to supervisors or management.
  • System Testing: Test system operations to ensure proper service establishment.
  • Blueprint Reading: Read building, electrical, and sprinkler blueprints as needed.
  • Coordination: Coordinate installations with police/fire departments and manage necessary records for emergency calls.
  • Documentation: Complete required paperwork and on-site documentation.
  • Technical Proficiency: Engage in self-study to gain technical proficiency on required products and applications.
  • Additional Duties: Perform other assigned duties.
  • Team Management: Manage installation teams on larger projects and mentor less experienced installers.
  • Travel: Travel using company vehicle and equipment.

Skills and Requirements

Must have:

Licensing:
State of Maine Master Limited Energy License.

Experience:
Minimum of 5 years in commercial installation.

Technical Skills:

Experience with electrical and electronic equipment, mechanical aptitude, ability to read blueprints and schematic drawings, and operate hand and power tools.


Physical Requirements:

No fear of heights, ability to read a tape measure accurately, and ability to stand, kneel, and drive for extended periods.


Travel:
Possible travel to MA, NH, and Maine, including some overnight and weekend trips with notice. null
