Position Overview

Leidos is actively seeking a Senior Vice President of Space Systems to lead our Space Systems Division, which encompasses a talented workforce of around 250 professionals and generates approximately $190 million in annual revenue. This division is dedicated to tackling a wide array of engineering challenges for various government entities as well as commercial and civil space clients. The role will focus on a significant growth sector within Leidos, specifically in the realms of space payload and sensing technologies.

The VP will report directly to the Senior Vice President of Aerospace Systems and will be tasked with guiding and expanding the division's commitments across all customer engagements, employee relations, program management, financial oversight, and strategic business development initiatives. This leadership position requires a proactive approach to building and leveraging relationships with other division leaders and functional teams, fostering collaboration across the organization to ensure success at all levels.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the division with a focus on cultivating, engaging, and retaining a high-performing workforce; foster collaboration across various departments; develop integrated business strategies that align with the overarching goals of the Aerospace Systems Business Area and the Defense Sector.
  • Monitor and forecast annual business plan financial targets and growth objectives; devise and implement business development strategies; ensure a robust pipeline for revenue growth in line with operational and strategic plans.
  • Oversee the development of advanced space hardware and systems, including infrared payloads for various orbital missions, communication systems, positioning, navigation, and timing (PNT) payloads, and propulsion systems.
  • Encourage innovation within the division and provide thought leadership in Space Systems, leveraging an entrepreneurial mindset to address emerging market trends and client needs.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience with 15+ years in program management, business management, engineering, or business development; or a Master's degree with 13+ years of relevant experience.
  • A minimum of 12 years managing a diverse range of programs or a large-scale program of high complexity, with at least 5 years in space systems development.
  • Experience leading teams or projects across multiple time zones.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience managing annual revenues exceeding $150 million with demonstrated growth.
  • Proven track record in securing contracts valued over $150 million.
