Job Title: Municipal Design Project Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled Municipal Design Project Manager to join our team at Trilon Group. As a key member of our infrastructure consulting firm, you will be responsible for overseeing the design and execution of civil engineering projects from conception to completion.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and provide technical expertise in the design of municipal engineering projects, including geometric design, grading, drainage, utilities, roadway design, plan development, and cost estimating.
  • Develop project scopes, schedules, and budgets in collaboration with stakeholders and clients.
  • Coordinate with internal teams, consultants, and subcontractors to ensure alignment with project objectives and requirements.
  • Oversee the development of engineering drawings, specifications, and construction documents.
  • Review and approve design plans to ensure compliance with regulatory standards, codes, and project requirements.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients and stakeholders, maintaining regular communication and managing expectations throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Monitor project progress, budget, and schedule, identifying and mitigating risks and issues as they arise.
  • Lead and mentor a multidisciplinary team of engineers, designers, and technicians, fostering collaboration and professional growth.
Requirements:
  • 8+ years' of experience in design and plan preparation.
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, preferably working as a licensed Professional Engineer.
  • Experience with industry design standards, guidelines, and specifications (i.e., City of Lansing and surrounding counties/municipalities, MDOT, etc.) and knowledge of AutoCad/Civil 3D grading and/or Open Roads Designer is expected.
  • Proficiency in independent preparation of Hydraulic/Hydrologic reports is a plus.
  • The ability to engage reviewing agencies while preparing technical designs and addressing comments is a critical part of our process.
