As a Reading Intervention Specialist, you will play a critical role in providing small group intervention and remediated instruction to students who are at risk of being or are below grade level.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with teachers to implement and track the incorporation of reading strategies into Tier 1 instruction.
- Collect, track, and report intervention/small group data and load into Google Drive.
- Review data and use it to drive instruction.
- Attend/participate in required science of reading trainings and implement strategies.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
As a Reading Intervention Specialist at United Cerebral Palsy of Central Florida Inc., you will have the opportunity to work with a team that is dedicated to empowering children with and without disabilities to achieve their potential. Our mission is to provide individualized support, education, and therapy services in an inclusive environment.
Qualifications- Associates Degree or equivalent college credits.
- 3 Years experience working in PreK-12 classroom with students with & without disabilities.
- Experience successfully providing small group instruction to students.
- Experience successfully collecting and using data to drive instruction.
- Demonstrated track record of working with classroom teachers to ensure student progress and success.
- Strong knowledge of the 5 components to reading: phonics, phonemic awareness, vocabulary, fluency & comprehension.
