The Department of State Hospitals is seeking a highly skilled Rehabilitation Therapist - Occupational to join our team at Patton State Hospital. As a key member of our rehabilitation therapy service, you will work under the administrative supervision of the Program Assistant and under the general lead and clinical direction of the Chief, Rehabilitation Therapy Service.
Responsibilities:- Provide occupational therapy services to patients with mental, physical, developmental, and/or geriatric disabilities.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to restore, maintain, and develop capabilities.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care and support.
- Conduct assessments, evaluations, and interventions to promote patient independence and functional abilities.
- Document patient progress and maintain accurate records.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
- Master's degree in Occupational Therapy or related field.
- Current licensure as an Occupational Therapist in the state of California.
- Registration with the National Registry of the American Occupational Therapy Association.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Patton State Hospital is a forensic psychiatric hospital providing treatment to forensically and civilly committed patients. The hospital does not accept voluntary admissions.
Special Requirements:- Pass a drug screening prior to being hired.
- Clear a background investigation prior to being hired.
- Obtain medical clearance prior to being hired.
