Position Overview:
As part of our nonpartisan campaign during the election cycle, we are launching a phone banking initiative aimed at mobilizing African voters. This role is crucial in promoting voter turnout, addressing community concerns, and expanding our membership base. We are looking for an enthusiastic and proactive individual skilled in engaging with diverse communities through phone communication.

Key Responsibilities:

Voter Engagement Training:

  • Recruit and motivate African voters to participate in our initiatives.
  • Participate in team meetings to stay informed about campaign strategies and messaging.
  • Attend training sessions to enhance phone banking skills and learn effective communication techniques.
  • Provide insights on community issues and voter concerns.

Phone Banking:

  • Conduct outreach calls to African voters regarding upcoming elections.
  • Engage in meaningful conversations, providing essential information about the electoral process.
  • Meet established outreach and engagement targets.
  • Inform voters about their voting options and assist with logistical needs.

Voter Education:

  • Deliver unbiased information about the ballot, voting deadlines, and requirements.
  • Encourage voters to verify their registration and explore various voting methods.

Data Management:

  • Accurately document interactions with voters.
  • Utilize data management tools to record feedback and commitments.
  • Maintain detailed records of voter engagement activities.

Qualifications:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Dependable and punctual throughout the campaign duration.
  • Experience working with African and immigrant communities is preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data handling.
  • Comfortable with scripted communication and extended phone conversations.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote setting.
  • Previous experience in phone banking or canvassing is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in additional languages, particularly African languages, is a plus.
