Production Manager

As a key member of the Tahoe Paperboard team, the Production Manager will be responsible for leading sheeting operations to achieve scheduled performance, at optimum costs and within established quality expectations.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in production management, with experience in leading employees and supervisors to ensure staffing is appropriate to manage workload and overtime.
They will also be responsible for clearly communicating and maintaining Tahoe Paperboard procedures, quality controls, and standards.
Additionally, the Production Manager will continually monitor quality controls and product quality, instructing employees on how to maintain consistent quality standards.
They will also review operating data and investigate deviations from expected performance, developing and monitoring key production metrics through individual and team accountability.
The successful candidate will be a fair and consistent administrator of all plant and company policies and procedures, with a strong focus on employee leadership and development.
They will train, coach, and motivate employees to work safely and productively, creating a positive, respectful, and accountable work environment.
The Production Manager will also be responsible for developing annual department budgets and ensuring budget adherence, as well as leading inventory management and driving savings initiatives.
They will also manage vendor claims and mutually satisfactory outcomes, and comply with all OSHA, EPA, SQF, and BAAQMD regulations.
To perform this job successfully, the Production Manager must have a Bachelor's degree in a related field and/or seven to ten years of paperboard packaging experience, with five plus years of supervisory experience required.
They must also have strong people skills, excellent follow-through and planning capability, and a demonstrated history of achieving results while building teams and culture.
The ideal candidate will be a data-driven approach to problem-solving and decision-making, with strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively across all departments.
They will also be competent in Microsoft Office Word and Excel, and have a strong work ethic and deep knowledge of paperboard packaging operations.
They will also be able to deliver consistent results while building capabilities and culture, and have the ability to actively listen and demonstrate strong people skills.
They will also be an initiative-taker, getting involved quickly and taking on challenges with enthusiasm.
