Position Summary:
Byers Engineering, a subsidiary of MasTec, is in search of a full-time, qualified Telecommunications Readiness Engineer to join our dynamic team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate and validate completed fiber network route design packages to ensure compliance with customer specifications and standards.
  • Scrutinize project deliverables for precision and inform the project management team of potential risks, challenges, and recommended solutions.
  • Work collaboratively with the internal MRE Engineering Team to implement quality assurance measures, ensuring consistent production quality throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Interpret highway/road prints, utility maps, and as-built documents to identify conflicts with existing infrastructure and determine the most cost-effective routing.
  • Maintain the integrity of the customer access network and provide support for the deployment of access technologies.
  • Adhere to established procedures while remaining adaptable to evolving standards and practices.

Required Qualifications:

  • Strong background in Telecommunications with a focus on MRE and Quality Assurance.
  • Demonstrated experience in deploying fiber optic networks, with a solid understanding of engineering principles relevant to MRE.
  • Familiarity with all facets of telecommunications, including knowledge of NESC, NEC, and OSHA standards.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, with proven problem-solving abilities, self-motivation, leadership, and team-building capabilities.
  • Effective communication skills across various levels, from team members to executive management.
  • Proficiency in engineering tools such as AutoCAD, OCalc, 3-GIS, or similar GIS/KMZ platforms.
  • Competence in Adobe, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Google Sheets, and Google Drive.
  • General understanding of joint use agreements and related management software.
