Spherion Birmingham (formerly AccuStaff & e-staff) is seeking a highly skilled Network Center Specialist to join our team. As a Network Center Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring maximum network availability for our clients by monitoring and troubleshooting data circuits.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor the overall network to identify and troubleshoot issues
  • Assist in testing internal data communications network equipment
  • Serve as an apprentice in installing network equipment and devices
  • Resolve circuit outages via vendor escalations, network administration, and hardware replacements
  • Troubleshoot network performance issues
  • Resolve other network-related issues, such as cabling and power issues related to network equipment

Requirements:

  • Two (2) years of related experience or an equivalent combination
  • Strong knowledge of networking concepts
  • Strong knowledge of Cisco and Fortinet router and switch technology
  • Strong knowledge of telecommunications carrier terminology and technology, and experience troubleshooting network performance issues
  • Advanced knowledge of network technologies, connectivity, and protocols
  • Experience resolving circuit issues across multiple telecommunications vendors
  • Ability to communicate effectively with telecommunications vendors and end users
  • Aptitude to learn new technical skills
  • Troubleshooting skills
  • Communication skills
