The Telecommunications Analyst is responsible for providing on-site field support for various construction and telecommunications projects. This role involves the effective coordination of activities carried out by IS Field Operations personnel and contractors, focusing on the installation, relocation, and decommissioning of telecommunications infrastructure, including transport, data, and voice equipment, as well as structured cabling and control systems cabling.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Coordination: Collaborate with Construction Management Groups and Project Managers to support project schedules and priorities by attending site meetings.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure compliance with installation standards and validate testing results for fiber installations.
- Documentation Management: Maintain accurate records, including as-built documentation and site documentation books.
- Material Tracking: Oversee the receiving, storing, and staging of materials for installation.
- Project Reporting: Provide weekly status updates to supervisors and detailed project reports to Project Managers.
- Safety Compliance: Ensure that all safety requirements are met by contractors and conduct proactive safety checks during installations.
Qualifications
- Two-year degree in a related field or equivalent military training or hands-on experience in telecommunications.
- 2 to 4 years of experience in a similar role or as a field operations technician.
- Proven ability to support problem resolution and project implementation.
- Strong understanding of data and voice networks, as well as major applications utilizing transport networks.
- Capability to design and engineer network modifications from a field perspective.
- Excellent organizational skills to coordinate tasks among various stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks based on their impact on the organization.
- Proficient in standard computing applications and documentation tools relevant to the role.
- Strong communication skills to effectively engage with management, vendors, and customers.
