About the Role:

We are seeking an exceptional Senior Genetic Counselor to join our team at NYU Grossman School of Medicine. This critical role involves providing expert genetic counseling services to patients undergoing fertility treatment cycles. As a senior member of our team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and staying up-to-date with the latest advancements in genetic testing and reproductive medicine.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive genetic counseling to patients and their families, including preimplantation genetic testing, family/medical history indications, carrier screening, gamete donation, and products of conception.
  • Collaborate closely with third-party reproduction/donor egg team to screen egg donors, coordinate testing, write reports, and manage cases of new genetic information or adverse events in donor-conceived offspring.
  • Review and interpret genetic test results, communicating risk assessments to patients and physicians.
  • Document discussions and lab results in patient charts, ensuring accurate and timely record-keeping.
  • Liaise with genetic testing laboratories, coordinating additional patient testing as needed.
  • Supervise genetic counseling graduate students as needed, fostering a culture of mentorship and professional growth.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned by management.

Requirements:

  • Masters degree in Genetic Counseling from an accredited training program.
  • American Board of Genetic Counseling (ABGC) board-certified or board-eligible.
  • Proficient in Excel, Word, Outlook, with a strong interest in specializing in assisted reproductive technologies.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with impeccable attention to detail.
  • Ability to excel in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment, self-motivated, and able to work independently.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Fertility genetics experience, including working with labs for PGM probes.

Compensation and Benefits:

The estimated salary range for this position is $95,000-$115,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience.
