Job Description

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Logistics Operations Manager to oversee and manage our line haul operations. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, excellent problem-solving abilities, and a deep understanding of logistics operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and oversee the line haul operations, ensuring smooth and efficient movement of freight.
  • Coordinate with drivers to schedule pick-up and delivery times, optimizing routes for maximum efficiency.
  • Monitor driver performance and provide feedback and coaching to improve productivity and adherence to company policies.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, including DOT and HOS regulations.
  • Review and update operational procedures to improve productivity, safety, and customer satisfaction.
  • Resolve any issues or conflicts that arise during the line haul process, including delays, breakdowns, or customer complaints.
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as dispatch and maintenance, to ensure effective communication and coordination.
  • Maintain accurate records of line haul operations, including driver logs, fuel consumption, and maintenance records.
  • Conduct regular safety meetings and training sessions to promote a culture of safety among line haul drivers.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices to continuously improve line haul operations.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification or education in logistics or supply chain management is a plus.
  • Proven experience in line haul operations, with a track record of successfully managing drivers and meeting targets.
  • Strong knowledge of DOT regulations and HOS compliance.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate and motivate a team.
  • Proficient in using computer systems and software, including transportation management systems and GPS tracking.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret data to make informed decisions and recommendations.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically and find innovative solutions.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
