Job Overview

The Warehouse Operations Manager oversees the daily functions of all warehouse facilities, collaborating closely with the Purchasing and Operations teams to manage material reception, track orders, and oversee product inventory. This role also involves supervising all warehouse staff and acting as the primary contact for implementing warehouse enhancement initiatives and new warehouse management systems (WMS).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilize inventory management software to process material receipts from suppliers.
  • Develop and coordinate the inventory system and warehouse operations for stock materials.
  • Supervise all personnel assigned to the warehouse operations.
  • Analyze daily product levels, deliveries, and shipments to enhance inventory control methods.
  • Maintain stock levels and oversee the inventory control system, including minimum and maximum material thresholds.
  • Report on inventory status, supply chain developments, procedural effectiveness, and personnel matters to senior management.
  • Conduct daily inventory counts and formalize standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Assist in the creation and revision of SOPs to mitigate future inventory discrepancies.
  • Maintain accurate records of all inventory adjustments and manage documentation.
  • Track all scrap and manage inventory disposal to minimize waste.
  • Support tracking of returns and special order materials as needed.
  • Participate in internal inventory audits and purchase order processing.
  • Facilitate communication to align material purchases with warehouse and project teams.
  • Handle company information and costs with confidentiality.
  • Monitor and report on material backorders from suppliers.
  • Trace freight as necessary.
  • Complete additional reporting and data entry tasks as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Mental and Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to remain stationary for 50% of the time.
  • Capable of operating a forklift and other office machinery.
  • Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds occasionally.
  • Ability to navigate stairs to access work areas.
  • Maintain safety while moving throughout the warehouse.
  • Frequent use of hands to handle tools and controls.

Working Environment:

  • Combination of indoor office and warehouse settings.
  • Requires climbing stairs to access primary workspaces.
