Job Summary:

The Goddard School - Wilmington, DE is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Assistant Director to join our team. As a key member of our leadership team, the Assistant Director will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our preschool, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment for our children, and providing exceptional customer service to our families.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership and Management: Provide guidance and support to our teaching staff, ensuring they have the resources and training needed to deliver high-quality education and care to our children.
  • Staff Development: Collaborate with our HR department to recruit, train, and retain top talent, and to develop a culture of continuous learning and growth.
  • Operations Management: Oversee the day-to-day operations of our preschool, including human resources, quality assurance, and facility management.
  • Financial Management: Manage our budget, ensuring we are operating within our means and making sound financial decisions.
  • Licensing and Compliance: Ensure we are in compliance with all relevant laws and regulations, and maintain our high standards of quality and safety.
  • Communication and Customer Service: Build strong relationships with our families, responding to their needs and concerns in a timely and professional manner.

Requirements:

  • Education: Hold or be eligible for an Early Childhood Administrator certificate from the State of Delaware, and a BA or BS degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or Elementary Education.
  • Experience: At least 2 years of experience as a director in a preschool setting, with a proven track record of success in leadership and operations management.
  • Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong leadership and management skills, and a deep love for children and a strong commitment to education.
