Position Title: Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)
Supervisor: Program Director/Alex Mendin
Role Summary:
The Certified Nursing Assistant plays a crucial role in ensuring the safety and well-being of individuals under care. This position involves adhering to the care plans established for each individual, facilitating their participation in daily living activities both at home and within the community. The CNA collaborates closely with the Registered Nurse and Program Director to foster a secure and healthy environment for both clients and staff. Additionally, the CNA may undertake administrative responsibilities as directed by the Unit Director or Registered Nurse, reflecting a commitment to the values upheld by Resources for Human Development.
Key Responsibilities:
Direct Care Responsibilities:
- Administer medications and prescribed treatments with precision, adhering to all regulatory standards.
- Provide essential personal care to help individuals maintain their health and public appearance, including bathing, grooming, and other personal hygiene tasks.
- Engage in physical activities to fulfill certification requirements and meet the needs of clients.
- Implement supportive measures during crises, including instances of self-harm or aggressive behavior.
- Assist in the physical transfer of clients as necessary, based on their individual capabilities.
Client Interaction and Wellness:
- Support individuals in community-based activities, fostering meaningful interactions with others.
- Deliver services in various settings, including homes, hospitals, and community programs.
Administrative Responsibilities:
- Assist in evaluating skill levels and monitoring environmental factors affecting clients.
- Ensure cleanliness and safety in the living environment by maintaining daily upkeep.
- Document and implement Individual Support Plan (ISP) outcomes as outlined.
- Participate in program planning while maintaining required staff supervision ratios.
Qualifications:
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant certification in good standing.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation are required.
- High School Diploma or GED is mandatory.
Physical Demands:
Lifting Requirements:
- Must be able to exert up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, 50 pounds frequently, and 20 pounds constantly to move objects.
