7 PM - 7 AM
Unit Description:
The Medical ICU is a 32-bed unit that focuses on teamwork and evidence-based practices. You will encounter a diverse patient population, including those with multi-system organ failure, respiratory distress, diabetic crises, drug overdoses, autoimmune disorders, and other critical conditions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess, implement, delegate, plan, and evaluate total nursing care.
- Collaborate effectively with other shifts and departments to ensure optimal continuity of care.
- Utilize evidence-based practices to foster a safe and innovative patient environment.
- Engage in AACN healthy work environment initiatives to meet standards for leadership, communication, collaboration, decision-making, staffing, and recognition.
Qualifications:
- Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing
- Valid Texas RN License or Eligible Compact License
- Current BLS & ACLS certification from the American Heart Association
- BSN required or must be obtained within three years of hire
- CCRN Certification preferred
