Position Overview:

The Financial Analyst plays a pivotal role in the preparation and generation of financial reports, models, and analyses on a consistent basis for the organization and its various divisions. This position collaborates closely with management to identify trends and key drivers, effectively communicating insights and recommendations. The analyst will be integral to various financial processes and initiatives, encompassing aspects of profit and loss (P&L), cash flow management, and balance sheet considerations as part of long-term planning (LRP), annual budgeting (AOP), forecasting, scenario analysis, monthly performance reviews, and external financial audits.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain comprehensive financial reporting and analytical frameworks for designated business areas to uncover issues, trends, and opportunities.
  • Assist in the month-end closing and forecasting processes, including accruals and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Contribute to long-range planning, annual budgeting, and monthly forecasting efforts, creating reports and models tailored to business requirements.
  • Facilitate multi-entity, category, and customer analysis by collaborating with the finance team to deliver necessary analytical support.
  • Engage in ad-hoc reporting, special projects, and additional departmental support as required.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for the implementation and ongoing management of the company's Enterprise Performance Management (EPM) system.
  • Document departmental policies and procedures as necessary.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) from an accredited institution; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. An MBA is preferred.

Experience:

  • A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in finance, ideally within the consumer packaged goods or retail sectors.

Skills:

  • Proficient in financial modeling, forecasting, and scenario analysis.
  • Strong understanding of P&L, cash flow, and balance sheet management; treasury knowledge is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing financials, including sales, trade, cost of goods sold, and SG&A.
  • Knowledge of cost and general accounting principles is a plus.
  • Highly skilled in budgeting, forecasting, and modeling techniques.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Office tools, particularly Excel.
  • Experience with ERP, EPM, and/or manufacturing systems.
  • Ability to work independently on diverse projects.
  • Understanding of basic supply chain management and production fundamentals.

Language Skills:

  • Ability to compose reports, business correspondence, and procedural manuals.
  • Capability to translate sales and operational activities into financial data and reports.
  • Effective presentation skills to convey information and respond to inquiries from various stakeholders.

Mathematical Skills:

  • Competence in working with mathematical concepts and comprehending financial reporting and data.
  • Ability to apply financial acumen in a manufacturing context.
  • Proficiency in applying concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to real-world scenarios.

Reasoning Ability:

  • Ability to solve practical problems and navigate a variety of concrete variables in situations with limited standardization.
  • Capacity to interpret diverse instructions presented in written, oral, diagrammatic, or schedule formats.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: CPA designation is a plus.
