We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Civil Engineer or Project Manager to join our team at the City of Port Townsend.
Job SummaryUnder general supervision from the Deputy Public Works Director, this position is responsible for the development and implementation of Public Works projects and the stewardship of city infrastructure working towards a sustainable future.
Key Responsibilities- Apply civil engineering principles and practices in the preparation of plans, specifications, and estimates related to the design, construction, and maintenance of Public Works projects.
- Develop and implement project plans, schedules, and budgets to ensure timely and within-budget completion of projects.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineers, architects, and contractors, to ensure successful project outcomes.
- Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and City policies.
- Supervise personnel, as needed, to ensure effective project execution.
- Licensed engineer in the State of Washington or the ability to obtain a license within 6 months of hire.
- Graduation from college with a degree in civil engineering or a closely related field.
- Valid Washington State Driver's license.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a licensed engineer (Civil Engineer II) or 6 years of experience as a practicing licensed engineer (Civil Engineer III).
- WA State PERS retirement and optional 457 Deferred Comp.
