Job Overview

Best Point Education & Behavioral Health is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Therapeutic Lead Teacher to join our team. As a key member of our Therapeutic Childcare Classroom, you will play a vital role in providing early education and therapeutic supports for preschool children with behavioral and/or emotional challenges.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a teaching team in creating a responsive preschool environment that promotes social, emotional, and educational development.
  • Collaborate with early childhood mental health staff to develop and implement individualized plans for children.
  • Administer developmental assessments, such as the DECA, Galileo, and Ages and Stages assessments, to inform instruction and support.
  • Supervise and interact with children daily, providing individualized and small-group educational and behavioral assistance.
  • Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans aligned with State Standards and Accreditation Standards.
  • Implement targeted strategies to address gaps in children's social and emotional development, including trauma-informed practices.
  • Monitor program quality targets and work with supervisors to develop plans to support target achievement.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of a CDA or Associates degree in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, or a related field from an accredited college or university; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Direct teaching experience in an early education or Head Start environment required.
  • Strong knowledge of social and emotional development and developmentally appropriate practices for preschoolers.
  • Flexibility in work schedule, responsibilities, and physical ability to perform the job of a teacher of young children.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate with parents, colleagues, and supervisors.
