Municipal Attorney I Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Municipal Attorney I to join our team at the Municipality of Anchorage, AK. As a key member of our legal department, you will play a critical role in providing legal advice and representation to the municipality.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide legal advice and representation to the municipality on various matters, including contract review and negotiation, litigation, and regulatory compliance.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure effective communication and coordination of legal matters.
  • Stay up-to-date with changes in laws and regulations affecting the municipality and provide recommendations for updates to policies and procedures.
Requirements:
  • Graduation from an accredited school of law and admission to the Alaska Bar Association.
  • At least one year of experience in the legal field, which may include volunteer or internship experience.
  • Alaska Public Safety Information Network (APSIN) / National Crime Information Center (NCIC) certification within 30 days of hire.
  • Valid State of Alaska driver's license at the time of hire.
