Position Overview

The Area Representative collaborates with the Director and Advisory Team to realize the vision of FCA, pursue its mission, and embody its values by executing the ministry strategy for the designated region. Within the FCA Sports Environments, the Representative guarantees a unified approach to discipleship, fostering a culture of making disciples who in turn make disciples. The Representative is responsible for ensuring that the FCA ministry operates in alignment with biblical principles and complies with FCA policies and procedures.

MINISTERIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

These duties are essential to the FCA mission, and this role is crucial to our ministry. FCA anticipates that all tasks and responsibilities outlined below will be performed with a heart dedicated to serving God as an act of worship.
  • Adhere to and uphold FCA's Christian Community Statement.
  • Maintain a spiritual rhythm that includes daily prayer and Bible study to discern the Lord's will for FCA.
  • Provide spiritual guidance and leadership for staff, volunteers, coaches, and athletes through prayer, Bible study, worship, and by setting a positive example to equip them for service.
  • Engage with and participate in a local church through worship and regular involvement.
  • Conduct oneself in a manner that reflects biblical standards of conduct in accordance with FCA's Christian beliefs at all times.
MINISTRY GROWTH
  • Engage, equip, and empower coaches and athletes through personal interactions, Huddles, and Events.
  • Train and support staff and volunteers to empower coaches and athletes to become disciples who make disciples within the Sports Environments.
TALENT DEVELOPMENT
  • Oversee the recruitment, training, and development of effective and diverse volunteers who guide every coach and athlete into a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ and His church.
    • Recruit: Actively seek and attract highly qualified volunteers for the Sports Environments.
    • Train: Provide resources and training to enhance volunteers' skills and increase their capacity to fulfill their responsibilities effectively.
    • Develop: Support volunteers in their roles by facilitating their spiritual and personal growth.
ADVISORY TEAM ENGAGEMENT
  • Invite, involve, and invest in an Advisory Team committed to prayer, service, and financial support.
FUNDRAISING INITIATIVES
  • Connect, communicate, and nurture relationships with existing and potential financial partners to achieve full funding.
  • Manage and oversee the financial resources for the assigned area of responsibility.
  • Establish and implement an annual budget and funding strategy by expanding the Home Team, major donors, and events.
INTERNATIONAL PARTNERSHIPS
  • Collaborate with the Director to support the aligned International Region through prayer, giving, and active participation.
Additional Information

Ministry Focus: Female coaches and athletes.

Ideal Candidate: A dedicated and mature disciple of Jesus Christ with experience in disciple-making is the ideal candidate for this role. The candidate should possess a passion for sports and have a background as either an athlete or a coach. They should be committed to supporting coaches through both triumphs and challenges in life. Life experience as a coach, spouse, or parent is also valuable.

Post-First Year Expectations: Coaches, athletes, and schools within the designated ministry area will recognize the Area Representative and understand their role. Current huddles will receive ongoing support and communication from the Representative. Coaches throughout the area will be at various stages of the E3 process, with the goal of having each school represented by an Empowered coach by the end of the year.
