Staff Development Specialist

This position is responsible for the ongoing evaluation, organization, and planning of the agency's in-service training programs. The employee will review and implement procedures to assess the effectiveness of training efforts.
Key Responsibilities:- Complete training requirements within the first month of employment to become a Certified Regional Staff Trainer through the ND Developmental Disabilities Curriculum
- Track and coordinate training to ensure Kalix staff meet all State and other regulatory training requirements
- Assess training needs for both Kalix and MVAW services
- Develop training materials to the diverse learning styles and needs of employees
- Schedule and coordinate training sessions
- Deliver training using a variety of instructional methods to meet the different learner needs
- Evaluate training effectiveness and share feedback with the Training Administrator
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date training records; develop new records as needed
- Submit monthly, quarterly, and annual reports to the State Training Director and Training Administrator
- Participate in revision or developing new modules for use in the statewide training system
- Participate in the onboarding and training of all new staff
- Perform other duties assigned or required
- Bachelor's degree in special education or related field
- 3-5 years related experience
- Strong understanding of developmental and intellectual disabilities
- Knowledge of teaching principles, methods and tools
- Ability to create and adapt materials to train staff effectively
- Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail
- Capability to assess the impact of training programs and make necessary adjustments
- Ability to motivate staff to gain knowledge that will drive client outcomes
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with experience presenting to both small and large groups
