Tenure Track Assistant Professor Faculty Position in Cancer Research
Virginia Tech
We are seeking a highly qualified individual to fill a tenure track faculty position at the assistant professor level in cancer research at Virginia Tech. This position is part of a major collaborative research initiative between Virginia Tech and the Children's National Hospital.
The successful candidate will be part of the university's Fralin Biomedical Research Institute and will be located in Virginia Tech's new state-of-the-art research facilities at the Children's National Research and Innovation Campus in Washington DC. The faculty member will be expected to maintain a high-quality, extramurally-funded research program and will have the opportunity to participate in some teaching of graduate students and to serve as a research mentor for VT graduate, medical and undergraduate students.
The position requires an earned doctorate (PhD, MD and/or DVM), postdoctoral research experience, a record of accomplishment of research productivity through high quality publications and some record of past or preferably current extramural funding. Applicants with laboratory bench-based research and/or bioinformatics approaches will be considered.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain a high-quality, extramurally-funded research program
- Participate in some teaching of graduate students
- Serve as a research mentor for VT graduate, medical and undergraduate students
Requirements
