Job Title: Project Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Project Engineer to join our team at William Charles Construction, a MasTec Company. As a Project Engineer, you will play a critical role in the success of our bridge projects in the Springfield, IL area.

Job Summary:

The Project Engineer will assist the Project Manager and Estimator in the day-to-day administrative functions associated with Project Management and Estimating. This includes preparing accurate estimates, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget, and maintaining project schedules and reports.

Responsibilities:
  • Attend project turnover meetings and assist in generating/maintaining project schedules.
  • Assist in setting up and managing submittals, purchase orders, change orders, and subcontractor agreements.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA standards and company policies.
  • Enforce the company safety program and ensure all work is completed according to specifications.
  • Assist in completing project plans and maintaining project-related reports.
  • Review construction documents and assist in obtaining pricing for materials and subcontractors.
  • Attend pre-bid meetings and make pre-bid site investigations.
  • Assist in preparing QA/QC plans and maintain and submit QA/QC records.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in the Construction industry, preferably with bridge work.
  • Previous experience with Procore, Build2Win, and/or P6 a plus.
  • Ability to read and understand contracts, strong analytical skills, and detail-oriented with good organization skills.
  • Ability to communicate well with others, both written and orally, and proficient in Computer applications such as Microsoft Office.
