About the Position

The Parcel Operations Supervisor is tasked with supporting the newly formed Parcel Division, overseeing all facets of parcel logistics operations. This role encompasses managing the entire brokerage process, including bidding, data analysis, carrier negotiations, and nurturing relationships with carriers and clients. This position will ensure the delivery of efficient and cost-effective parcel solutions while adhering to the company's service and profitability standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Bidding and Proposals:
    • Prepare and submit competitive proposals for parcel delivery services.
    • Analyze market rates and trends to maintain competitive pricing.
    • Collaborate with the sales team to comprehend client needs and customize bids accordingly.
  • Data Analysis:
    • Gather and assess data on parcel delivery performance, costs, and other metrics.
    • Generate reports and insights to facilitate decision-making and optimize operations.
    • Utilize data to pinpoint opportunities for enhancing service and cost-efficiency.
  • Carrier Negotiations:
    • Identify, evaluate, and select parcel carriers based on performance, cost, and reliability.
    • Negotiate contracts and rates with carriers to secure advantageous terms for the company.
    • Establish and maintain robust relationships with carrier partners.
  • Operational Management:
    • Oversee the daily operations of the parcel division.
    • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
    • Implement and manage processes to guarantee timely and accurate parcel delivery.
  • Customer Relations:
    • Act as the primary point of contact for clients regarding parcel logistics.
    • Address and resolve any issues or concerns related to parcel delivery services.
    • Maintain a high level of customer satisfaction through effective communication and service.
  • Team Leadership:
    • Recruit, train, and supervise a team of logistics and support personnel.
    • Foster a positive and productive work environment.
    • Set performance objectives and conduct regular evaluations for team members.
About the Requirements:
  • 3+ years of experience in parcel logistics.
  • Associate degree preferred.
  • Strong customer service skills required.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Strong work ethic and positive attitude.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Onsite work is required.
