Role Overview:

The Senior Analyst/Consultant for Third Party Risk Management (TPRM) will play a crucial role in supporting the TPRM team in meeting its review, challenge, and reporting obligations, as well as adhering to operational risk management and control framework standards. This position leverages extensive knowledge and expertise to aid in the identification, evaluation, management, monitoring, and regulation of third-party risks in accordance with CIBC's policies and guidelines.

This role involves exercising independent judgment within established procedures to bolster CIBC's second line of defense by providing effective scrutiny of third-party risk and control inputs and outputs from various business lines. The Senior Analyst/Consultant will utilize professional analytical and communication skills to facilitate management's engagement with third-party and operational risk tools, contributing to the ongoing enhancement of these tools and processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the continuous identification, assessment, control, and reporting of Third Party Risk.
  • Support the development and refinement of CIBC's TPRM practices and programs throughout the third-party lifecycle.
  • Facilitate oversight and constructive challenge of Third Party risk and control activities.
  • Help maintain and update the TPRM Policy Supplement and program framework standards.
  • Participate in the execution of second line of defense Objective Assessments.
  • Coordinate the review and challenge of Third Party Risk Assessments with residual risks above Low.
  • Monitor the resolution of identified issues and risks, ensuring compliance with the issues management process.
  • Assist in reviewing and challenging activities related to the Affiliate Relationship Management program.
  • Generate regular reports on the TPRM program for senior management and governance committees.
  • Stay informed about changes in third-party regulatory requirements and collaborate with the TPRM team on impact assessments.

Qualifications:

  • 2-4 years of experience in Third Party Risk Management or a related operational risk field; experience in Financial Services is advantageous.
  • A bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • Strong analytical skills with a passion for data interpretation and problem-solving.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite and data analysis tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
  • A collaborative mindset, valuing teamwork and inclusivity.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage effectively across diverse teams.
  • Attention to detail and strong critical thinking abilities to support informed decision-making.
