Position Overview:
This role is accountable for overseeing and governing the daily third-party risk management activities within the organization. You will assist in executing the strategic vision of the third-party risk management program by ensuring compliance with enterprise-wide policies and procedures for assessing, onboarding, managing, monitoring, and concluding third-party transactions. Proactively manage and escalate risk and customer-impacting issues that arise in daily operations to senior management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement risk oversight reporting and examination management in alignment with the Third-Party Risk Management Program, Policy, and framework. This includes monitoring adherence to program requirements, supporting the upkeep and enhancement of enterprise policies and procedures, and overseeing critical and strategic services provided to Discover.
- Maintain the Third-Party Risk Management framework along with related documentation and standards, track and report on key risk indicators associated with third parties, including the status of subject matter expert (SME) risk assessments, issues, and action plans for third-party engagements. Collaborate with various SME teams and engagement owners across business lines, and provide training on standards and frameworks.
- Lead efforts in managing regulatory examinations and responses to internal audits.
- Compile and reconcile third-party reporting data for committee and board presentations.
Minimum Qualifications:
To be considered for this position, candidates should possess:
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Finance.
- A minimum of 6 years of experience in Risk Management, Financial Services, Process Improvement, or a related field.
- Alternatively, 8 years of experience in Risk Management, Financial Services, Process Improvement, or a related field may substitute for a degree.
Preferred Qualifications:
We would also appreciate candidates who have:
- A Master’s Degree in Finance.
- At least 8 years of experience in Risk Management, Financial Services, Process Improvement, or a related field.
Compensation:
The base salary for this position typically ranges from $88,500 to $149,000. Additional incentives may be included as part of a competitive total compensation package. Factors such as geographical location, relevant experience, education, and skill level may influence the pay for this role.
