Job Summary

The Nursing Assistant serves as a caregiver to residents during the scheduled work period in long-term care. Provides resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance to assigned residents under the supervision of a registered nurse (RN).

Key Responsibilities
  • Provides assistance with basic health care needs, including daily living activities such as bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing/undressing, and providing psychosocial support.
  • Assists residents with transferring, repositioning, and walking using correct and appropriate transfer techniques and equipment.
  • Completes tasks related to food preparation and dining, while creating a positive dining experience for residents.
  • Documents resident interactions and outcomes related to resident care, behavior, activity, and dietary.
  • Communicates resident's changing condition and care-related concerns/responses to the charge nurse.
Requirements
  • High school graduate or general equivalency diploma (GED) preferred.
  • Minimum age of 16.
  • Prior clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care preferred.
  • Required Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification with the State Board of Nursing, or state certified CNA within four months of date into the position.
