We are in search of a Civil Project Engineer to join our Civil Engineering Department. The ideal candidate will be highly driven with a dedication to design excellence. This individual should demonstrate the ability to manage project timelines, cultivate and maintain client relationships, and motivate a high level of performance from the team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan, develop, and coordinate projects with minimal supervision.
  • Understand, review, and/or participate in the preparation of proposals.
  • Calculate and review costs and timelines for proposed work.
  • Effectively manage and assign duties and schedules to team members.
  • Verify all technical work for accuracy.
  • Exceed client expectations and foster relationships through collaboration and problem-solving.
  • Communicate with clients weekly to provide project updates and status reports.
  • Recommend changes to clients as necessary and as approved by the Department/Project Manager.
  • Maintain logs of client contacts.
  • Ensure adherence to Individual and Department QA/QC procedures.
  • Secure all necessary permits and entitlements for projects, including rezoning, special use permits, conditional use permits, site plan approvals, and required construction drawing approvals.
  • Supervise Civil Designers assigned to projects and ensure that all responsibilities are fulfilled efficiently.
  • Assist in the review and processing of invoices for assigned projects and sub-consultants.
  • Engage in business development by maintaining existing client relationships and acquiring new contacts through local meetings, workshops, and social events.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering and Professional Licensure.
  • 5+ years of experience in various site design projects, including retail, commercial, and public sector projects, with increasing experience in residential layouts, planning, and engineering.
  • Specific design experience required in site layout, grading, storm drainage, stormwater management, water and sewer utilities, and erosion control.
  • Familiarity with entitlement processes and local permitting regulations.
  • Proficiency in technical software including Autodesk Civil 3D 2015 or newer, Hydraflow Storm Sewers/Hydrographs/Express Extensions, WaterCAD, and Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Effective collaboration abilities.
  • A team player with a willingness to adapt and learn new responsibilities.
