Job Summary

We are seeking highly motivated and experienced Research Technicians to join our team at the Commonwealth of Virginia. As a Research Technician, you will play a critical role in supporting our research efforts in cell biology and regeneration.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain breeding acoelomorph (Hofstenia miamia) colony, including tank maintenance and feeding of adult and juvenile animals.
  • Conduct molecular biology experiments on H. miamia development and regeneration using pharmacological inhibitors or protein treatments.
  • Conduct experiments that involve characterizing gene expression patterns using immunofluorescence and in situ hybridization.
  • Fulfill other lab duties as needed.
Requirements
  • At least 2 years of lab experience, which may include student experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related science will be considered in lieu of experience.
Working Conditions

This position can spend extensive periods of time standing and squatting while conducting experiments or caring for animals. Also requires keyboarding and other bench work and lab procedures requiring finer finger manipulation.
