Key Responsibilities
  • Participate in the loan management process by analyzing prospective loan transactions and credit worthiness of borrowers.
  • Validate credit analysis prepared by Credit Analysts and provide opinions and recommendations regarding proposed credit and potential risks.
  • Ensure all due diligence and background evaluation is complete and thorough before a Credit Memo is submitted.
  • Review loan request applications, financial information, and third-party reporting to evaluate credit structure and terms.
  • Determine sources and uses of funds, analyze industry data, competitive factors, historical performance, projected results, risks, and mitigating factors.
  • Ensure Credit Memos contain well-supported recommendations or decisions, accurate risk ratings, and reliable data and analytics.
  • Attend client meetings to facilitate delivery of credit products and assist in problem resolution.
  • Provide balanced and appropriate credit guidance to Relationship Managers and collaborate in determining credit strategies.
  • Offer creative ways to structure credits, ensuring transactions are within profitability and portfolio risk standards.
  • Author Credit Memos and provide input on loan pricing and restructuring.
  • Perform quarterly Problem Loan reporting and take proactive approaches to development and implementation of Action Plans.
  • Monitor and respond to past due reporting items and covenant defaults in partnership with Relationship Managers.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge on Bank lending policies and regulations.
  • Coordinate loan documentation and review collateral to minimize credit risk.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in underwriting medium to large-sized and moderately complex commercial credit.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in a banking or financial services environment.
  • Or a minimum of 10 years of experience in underwriting large and complex commercial loans.
  • Extensive technical expertise and full knowledge of commercial credit principles, financial concepts, and regular use of ingenuity and creativity in solving complex credit problems.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to assume responsibility and accountability for decision-making.
Compensation

Starting base salary: $111,408 - $189,738 per year. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. This job is eligible for bonus and/or commissions.
