Job Summary:We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Registered Nurse to provide comprehensive care to patients undergoing diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills, critical thinking abilities, and a commitment to delivering high-quality patient-centered care.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide Direct Patient Care: Provide direct patient care before, during, and after invasive cardiac procedures, including but not limited to cardiac catheterizations, angioplasty, stent placement, TAVR, Watchman, and electrophysiology studies.
- Assess Patient Conditions: Assess patient conditions, perform patient evaluations, and develop individualized care plans in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.
- Monitor Patients: Monitor patients closely during procedures, anticipate potential complications, and intervene promptly to ensure patient safety and comfort.
- Administer Medications: Administer medications, intravenous therapies, and conscious sedation as prescribed by physicians, adhering to established protocols and safety guidelines.
- Document Patient Information: Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately and timely in electronic medical records.
- Education and Collaboration: Educate patients and their families about cardiac procedures, treatment plans, medications, and post-procedure care instructions. Collaborate with healthcare team members, including physicians, technologists, and support staff, to optimize patient outcomes and facilitate efficient workflow.
- Quality Improvement: Participate in quality improvement initiatives, research projects, and professional development activities to enhance clinical practice and promote evidence-based care delivery.
- Compliance: Adhere to hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements, ensuring compliance with standards of practice and patient safety guidelines.
- Active RN Licensure: Active Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of CT.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of one year Interventional Cath Lab experience or at least 5 years Critical Care (ICU or CVU) experience.
- Certifications: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications required.
- Skills: Excellent interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills. Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
