Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Cardiovascular Technician to join our team at Waterbury Hospital. As a key member of our Cardiopulmonary Services department, you will be responsible for assisting physicians with diagnostic procedures, performing hemodynamic collection and analysis, and providing exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist physicians with invasive and non-invasive testing procedures, utilizing knowledge of cardiopulmonary anatomy and sterile technique.
  • Collect and analyze hemodynamic parameters and arrhythmias for final diagnostic reports.
  • Operate computer, monitors, and other diagnostic equipment to ensure accurate and efficient testing.
  • Recognize and report abnormal hemodynamic parameters and arrhythmias to ensure timely intervention.
  • Provide patient care by ensuring patient information, comfort measures, and awareness are met, considering age appropriateness.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date record keeping for patient identification and quality improvement programs.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to promote effective working relationships and facilitate department goals and objectives.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development to ensure knowledge and skills are current and relevant.
Requirements
  • CPR certification
  • Knowledge of sterile technique and ability to work in a sterile environment
  • Knowledge of scientific principles related to cardiovascular technology
  • Ability to communicate effectively and confidentially with professional staff, patients, and families
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with exposure to patient elements, including blood-borne pathogens
  • High School Diploma
  • 1-2 years of experience in a clinical cardiology setting
  • Basic computer skills and ability to access internet and other programs applicable to Waterbury Hospital procedures
