Job Overview

Evolver Federal is in search of a qualified candidate to fulfill the role of Cybersecurity Compliance Officer, aimed at supporting a governmental initiative.

Key Responsibilities:

The Cybersecurity Compliance Officer will be tasked with:

  • Ensuring that all systems, components, and services required by the client adhere to federal security regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Identifying and addressing system vulnerabilities effectively.
  • Maintaining the design of security solutions and safeguarding sensitive customer data.
  • Conducting thorough risk assessments to pinpoint potential threats, vulnerabilities, and security breaches.
  • Investigating any identified threats to mitigate and manage possible security incidents.
  • Developing and delivering comprehensive training programs for all organizational employees.
  • Collaborating with various departments and management levels to ensure adherence to security protocols across the organization.

Essential Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of 5 years in an Information Security Officer role or a similar position.
  • 5 years of experience in Security Engineering or Security Operations.
  • 5 years of experience in analyzing, assessing, and implementing corrective measures based on vulnerability management tools.
  • At least 2 years of experience in a management or project lead capacity.
  • Possession of at least one active certification such as CASP, GSEC, GSLC, CISSP, CEH, CISM, or CISA.
  • 2 years of experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud, Azure, or Cornerstone.
  • 5 years of experience in creating and maintaining technical documentation.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong capability in producing technical documentation.
  • A collaborative team player with a problem-solving mindset.
  • Expertise in security controls and conducting security testing, along with assessments of local area networks to ensure compliance.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Extensive knowledge of security systems and the ability to serve as a Subject Matter Expert on the implementation of continuous monitoring tools across networks, providing recommendations for vulnerability remediation across various operating systems.
  • Experience in incident response and investigation.
  • Experience in creating Privacy Impact Assessments and conducting risk assessments.
  • Ability to perform ongoing reviews of existing systems and recommend optimizations.
  • Proven experience as an Information Security Officer in a governmental context.
  • In-depth knowledge of information security processes, methodologies, and best practices.
