This position is based in our Billing and Coding department, where you will handle inquiries from patients, clinics, insurance providers, and other third-party entities via our multi-line telephone system. You will also be responsible for scheduling appointments across various primary care clinic locations, directing calls, and processing payment requests for electronic credit card and ACH transactions.

A typical day in this role...

Curious about what your daily responsibilities as a Revenue Cycle Representative might entail? You will:
  • Manage the posting of manual and electronic payments, as well as denials received by the organization, into the accounts receivable system.
  • Understand the payment posting process thoroughly and possess the ability to handle resubmissions, reposting, and data transfers.
  • Receive and process requests for patient medical records on behalf of The Iowa Clinic.
  • Accurately document and maintain a disclosure log detailing what records were sent, to whom, and when.
  • Electronically receive, sort, and transfer data into patient electronic medical records.
  • Scan physical medical records and convert them into electronic formats.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in a medical office administrative role and familiarity with various insurance programs is preferred.
  • Knowledge of electronic health records, medical terminology, ICD-10, and CPT codes is essential.
