As a Claims Supervisor, you will be responsible for managing a team of professionals handling complex claims, ensuring prompt, effective, and courteous handling of all claims to policyholders and claimants.
Key Responsibilities- Team Leadership: Supervise and provide guidance to Claims Examiners and Claims Service Representatives in claim handling, performance, compliance, strategy, and settlement authority.
- Claim Handling: Evaluate property claims and provide guidance and settlement authority to property claims adjusters.
- Operational Management: Conduct Open and Closed File Reviews to evaluate and document overall operational value.
- Loss Management: Effectively manage loss, loss adjustment expense, and loss reserve for property claims.
- Complex Claim Resolution: Recognize complex claims and develop appropriate claims strategy and settlement solutions.
- Policy Interpretation: Research, review, and interpret policy language and state laws as necessary.
- Special Case Management: Manage and resolve special cases/problem claims, evaluating claims and addressing policy coverage issues in excess of staff authority.
- Departmental Support: Assist in establishing policy and procedure for the department, developing strategic goals and objectives, and providing direction, support, and leadership.
- Communication: Communicate effectively with agents, policyholders, Claims Unit personnel, Underwriting, Human Resources, Finance/Accounting, and Chief Claims Officer.
- Florida All Lines Adjuster License (620 License) required.
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in a related field or a combination of education and significant directly related experience.
- Experience: At least 5-7 years of experience processing Homeowners claims, 2 years managing a Claims Team.
- Skills: Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, excellent communication skills, detail-oriented, and exceptionally organized.
