Automotive Body Repair Specialist

Oakes Buick GMC is seeking a skilled Automotive Body Repair Specialist to enhance our dedicated team. The ideal candidate will possess ASE certifications and demonstrate a strong commitment to professional growth. Daily responsibilities will encompass conducting road tests on vehicles to verify quality repairs, diagnosing and addressing parts needed for restoration, and performing inspections for any additional or concealed damages.
Compensation
Hourly pay ranges from $27.00 to $29.00.

- Assess and determine parts necessary for repairs; analyze repair orders, work orders, and estimates from the Body Shop Manager; adhere to warranty protocols; inform supervisors of any additional repair requirements.
- Modify, replace, and restore various truck and trailer components (including sheet metal, fiberglass, structural welding, and electrical/mechanical repairs).
- Conduct road tests on vehicles as needed to ensure the integrity of repairs.
- Stay updated on technical skills and knowledge of the manufacturer's repair processes.
- Execute tasks outlined in repair estimates with precision and efficiency, meeting dealership and factory standards.
- Disassemble and evaluate for further or hidden damages.
- Communicate with the body shop estimator regarding any additional damages or if repairs may not be completed within the expected timeframe.
- Guide and mentor apprentice technicians while maintaining ASE certifications.
- Experience in welding, suspension, and framework is advantageous, or a willingness to learn and train.
- Preferred ASE Certifications: Damage Analysis and Estimating, Mechanical and Electrical Components, Non-Structural Analysis and Damage Repair, and State Vehicle Inspector.
- Possession of the aforementioned certifications or equivalent experience with a desire to enhance skills.
- A valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
