Job Title: Ruby on Rails Engineer

About the Role:

We are seeking a talented and experienced Ruby on Rails Engineer to join our dynamic team at Jobot. As a Ruby on Rails Engineer, you will have the opportunity to create and implement innovative solutions to complex technical challenges. Our ideal candidate will be a seasoned professional with a strong background in Ruby on Rails, React, REST APIs, and Postgres.

Responsibilities:

* Design, develop, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable Ruby code.
* Integration of user-facing elements developed by front-end developers with server-side logic.
* Identify bottlenecks and bugs, and devise solutions to these problems.
* Help maintain code quality, organization, and automatization.
* Assist in the development and maintenance of our APIs using RESTful practices.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
* Participate in code reviews to maintain a high-quality codebase.
* Contribute to all phases of the development lifecycle – from concept and design to testing.
* Develop and maintain data storage solutions, primarily using Postgres.
* Create and maintain software documentation.
* Stay up-to-date on emerging technologies.

Requirements:

* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
* A minimum of 5 years of experience in software development with at least 3 years of experience specifically in Ruby on Rails.
* Solid understanding of object-oriented programming.
* Proven experience with RESTful API integration.
* Knowledge of server-side templating languages such as Liquid, Slim, etc.
* Good understanding of server-side CSS preprocessors such as SCSS, based on project requirements.
* Proficient understanding of code versioning tools (e.g., Git, Mercurial or SVN).
* Familiarity with continuous integration and deployment.
* Proven experience with Postgres or similar relational databases.
* Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
* Ability to work in a team-oriented setting.
* Must be proactive, self-directed, detailed and organized.
