Job Summary:

At Barr Engineering Company, we are seeking a highly skilled Environmental Engineer to join our team. As an Environmental Engineer, you will play a key role in developing and implementing environmental practices that further our company's mission. Your primary focus will be on contaminated site assessment, remediation, and reclamation and closure capabilities in the Intermountain West. You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams, preparing reports for regulatory submission, and conducting remediation technology evaluations and feasibility studies. Additionally, you will be involved in client and regulatory communication, mentor junior staff, and be responsible for fulfilling business-development activities such as building and maintaining client relationships, tracking marketing leads and project opportunities, developing proposals and presentations, networking, and sharing Barr's capabilities with existing and potential clients.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement environmental practices

• Prepare reports for regulatory submission, including investigation reports, permit applications, and management plans

• Conduct remediation technology evaluations and feasibility studies

• Develop remediation, reclamation, and closure plans

• Prepare technical reports

• Coordinate site remediation and reclamation activities

• Participate in client and regulatory communication

• Mentor junior staff

• Fulfill business-development activities, including building and maintaining client relationships, tracking marketing leads and project opportunities, developing proposals and presentations, networking, and sharing Barr's capabilities with existing and potential clients

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in environmental engineering, civil engineering, geological engineering, or related field

• Five or more years of relevant work experience

• Registered as a Professional Engineer (PE) or eligible to become registered within a year

• Understanding of environmental quality guidelines and application to data collected from various environmental media and land uses

• Technical knowledge of federal and state environmental regulations and programs related to environmental site assessments, environmental regulations, mine waste regulations, and site remediation and treatment technologies

• Excellent communication and technical report writing skills

• Demonstrated client-relationship and interest in growing business development skills

• Demonstrated effectiveness in building working relationships and participating in multidiscipline teams

• Demonstrated task management and organization skills

• A flexible working style and willingness to modify personal schedule as required to meet project deadlines and/or client needs

• Willingness to travel for project and business development purposes

• Legal authorization to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship

• Acceptable driving record
