Position Overview

Title: Floater/Assistant Teacher

Department: Operations

Reports to: Center Director

Role Summary:

As a Floater/Assistant Teacher, you will be instrumental in delivering care and educational support to children, assisting the lead educator. Your responsibilities will include collaborating with the teaching team to develop and execute engaging curricula, assessing individual children's needs, and maintaining close communication with families.

Compensation:

Starting at $16.50, based on experience and educational background.

Work Schedule:

Monday through Friday (Flexibility required between 7:30 AM and 5:30 PM)

Preferred Qualifications:

Minimum of one year of verified experience in an early childhood education setting.

Current certifications in CPR and First Aid, along with necessary background checks.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure a safe and nurturing atmosphere for children in your care.

• Attend to the developmental and emotional needs of children.

• Design and implement interactive, hands-on learning activities.

• Cultivate a supportive and positive educational environment.

• Maintain cleanliness in play, rest, and changing areas.

• Monitor child development using established assessment tools and work towards achieving developmental milestones.

• Create engaging plans and activities that promote developmental progress.

Essential Requirements:

• Previous experience in a similar educational role.

• Compliance with annual professional development standards as per state regulations.

• Certification in CPR/First Aid within the first month of employment.

• Ability to pass a criminal background check.

• A compassionate individual who enjoys working with young children.

• Capability to lift up to 50 pounds.

• Ability to spend extended periods sitting on the floor and transitioning up and down.

• Flexibility to work shifts between 7:30 AM and 5:30 PM.

• Reliable transportation to the childcare center.

• Strong communication skills for effective interaction with parents and colleagues.

• Adaptability to meet varying child-to-staff ratios.
