Position Summary
The role of the Educational Support Specialist at Little Darlings Child Care Center encompasses a range of essential duties. While prior experience is not mandatory, any relevant background should be noted. Classroom educators will provide on-the-job training as you engage with various age groups and different learning environments.
The assistant will support the Lead Teacher in executing age-appropriate activities that cater to the social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development of the children.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee, guide, and nurture the children in your care.
- Ensure a safe, enjoyable, and healthy atmosphere for the children.
- Maintain open communication with parents and guardians.
- Adhere to the Lead Teacher's instructions throughout the day while also contributing ideas.
- Assist with personal care tasks, including changing diapers and soiled clothing, as required by the classroom setting.
- Participate in daily cleaning and sanitizing routines.
We seek individuals who are enthusiastic, energetic, nurturing, patient, creative, responsible, flexible, compassionate, and culturally aware, with a willingness to collaborate as part of a team.
Qualifications- High School Diploma
Upon hiring, candidates must complete Infant and Child CPR and First Aid training, a Mandatory Health and Safety online course, as well as fulfill annual continuing education requirements. Additional requirements include a Physical and TB Mantoux skin test, Fingerprinting, and Child Abuse History Clearance.
Preferred Qualifications- Experience in Childcare settings
- CPR and First Aid Certification
- CDA Certification
- Paid Time Off and paid Holidays for full-time employees after one year of service.
- Health Insurance Coverage available for full-time employees after one year, with the employee responsible for 90% of premiums.
