The Test Engineering Manager is pivotal in the creation and execution of Loft's satellite missions. This role is responsible for overseeing a dedicated team of test engineers and technicians to design and implement testing protocols for hardware across all product levels.

The Test Engineering Manager guarantees that all components and systems conform to design specifications and quality benchmarks, ensuring readiness for launch or delivery within designated timelines.

This position also entails establishing standardized procedures, promoting test automation, and coordinating testing requirements and resources across the organization.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Direct and manage the planning, execution, and completion of testing activities for all Loft satellite production, ensuring alignment with quality, schedule, and budgetary goals.
  • Lead a cross-functional team of engineers and technicians, fostering a collaborative environment to achieve project milestones and organizational objectives.
  • Collaborate with various engineering teams, program managers, and stakeholders to ensure that testing activities align with program goals.
  • Develop and implement strategies for efficient integration and testing processes, including automation where applicable.
  • Oversee the setup and operation of testing facilities and equipment, ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards.
  • Conduct test readiness reviews and participate in hardware design and requirements reviews to identify risks and formulate mitigation strategies.
  • Analyze test data, document results, and provide comprehensive reports to support design validation and certification processes.
  • Manage resources, timelines, and budgets related to testing activities.
  • Stay informed on industry trends, technologies, and best practices in aerospace assembly, integration, and testing.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering.
  • Proven leadership experience with engineers in satellite production and testing.
  • Demonstrated success in implementing cost control and budgeting strategies.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, emphasizing team-building and positive customer relations.
  • Experience in test requirements management, test procedure development, and test automation within the aerospace sector.
  • Proficiency in various software tools, including MS Office Suite, JIRA, Confluence, Grafana, and Python.
  • A strong problem-solving mindset with the ability to guide complex projects to successful outcomes.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Background in Software and/or Electrical Engineering, particularly in test development.
  • Experience in hardware/software integration and the development of testing equipment.
  • Previous experience in developing procedures in relevant software.
